Anxiety Skills Group
Hi! I’m Victoria Valdez, a mental health counselor who specializes in helping teens better manage anxiety. I’m located in Brentwood TN. I have a huge heart for serving teenagers and their families especially those dealing with anxiety. Having anxiety and not knowing how to manage it can really get in the way of living our best life. Anxiety likes to keep us in constant fear of the unknown and of what's next. It likes to keep us from the people we love, the things we like to do and the fun of experiencing new things.
One of my counseling specialties is helping teens learn to manage their anxiety in a way that allows them to start living their best life! I’ve helped teens go from fear of going to social events to attending them regularly, conquer fears of public speaking, being empowered to be more independent and so much more.
I am offering a summer skills group experience for high school and middle school age students who are experiencing anxiety and want help learning how to live their best life despite what anxiety tells them. This group will be in person, inexpensive, skill building and the start of change. There are only 6 spots per group so make sure you sign up soon!
When?
We will start on June 8th, 2021 Tuesdays. Each session will last about 90 minutes for 6 weeks.
Time: 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
What to expect? Teens will be able to learn about how anxiety works in the brain & body, process their feelings with each other and the therapist, experience activities that will create forward momentum toward growth, learn skills that will help to better manage their anxiety and be provided with weekly challenges to be completed in between sessions. Each session will be structured around learning skills, practicing skills, processing feelings and working towards goal completion within the 6 weeks. Weekly challenges will include drawing style prizes.
Cost? Each session will cost $30. There is a one time digital materials fee of $25. A bundle price of $160 for those who want to purchase the entire 6 group sessions at one time. There are no cancellation refunds for missed sessions. This is a 6 week commitment.
Note:
Pre- registration required. First come first serve with an option to be placed on a waiting list when the class is full. Payment is required on the date of registry either the full discounted price or a $75 refundable down payment. This is in order to hold your youth spot in the group. Refunds are 100% refundable until 30 days before the event date. If refund is requested two weeks before the start date 50% of the fee is refundable. Any request less than two weeks before group start date 0% will be refunded. All payments will be processed by square.
